French Tea House
and Creation Studio

The story of La Route des Comptoirs started in 1997, as the founder François Cambell started traveling the world in search of the finest tea plantations. With its rigorous sourcing and control of the entire supply chain, from garden to cup, it has developed unique expertise in the world of organic tea.

A careful sourcing of each ingredient

At the heart of their workshop near Nantes, our experts craft exceptional teas with precision. The magic happens in the dedicated creative studio: carefully selected organic leaves are blended with natural ingredients to create unique recipes. Each cup reflects true expertise and a deep commitment to authentic flavors, with the organic certification.

THE ART OF BLENDING AND FLAVORING

At La Route des Comptoirs, every creation is built on a delicate balance of single-estate teas, herbs, and natural flavors. The team of experts master the art of blending, combining leaves with over 360 carefully sourced ingredients from around the world: spices, flowers, fruits, and aromatic essences. Each ingredient undergoes rigorous evaluation, including sensory tests, analysis, and comparison, to ensure impeccable quality.

Natural flavoring, always subtle, enhances these blends to reveal harmonious tastes, making every cup a true experience of balance and originality.

Commitments shared in every cup

At La Route des Comptoirs, working directly with producers allows us to build sustainable partnerships that ensure responsible farming and fair conditions.

Our commitments are based on three key pillars:

  • Responsibility: Choosing organic agriculture to support a sustainable future.
  • Sharing: Fostering responsible trade and trustful collaboration with producers.
  • Proximity: Supporting local initiatives that highlight talent and inclusion.

Every cup reflects their vision of ethical and refined tea.

A Deep Connection to the Pays de la Loire region through an historical link with tea

Our ties to Nantes, Pays de la Loire, are rooted in a shared history with tea. As early as 1839, French botanist Monsieur Guillemin recognized the Britanny climate as ideal for tea cultivation, thanks to its mild temperatures and humidity. This insight was later confirmed over the decades, notably with the successful planting of tea bushes in the gardens of Trévarez (Britanny).
