PARTNERSHIPS WITH PURPOSE
CELEBRATING THE ART OF COFFEE AND PROTECTING THE COFFEE SUPPLY CHAIN
Cafés Richard promotes the values of French café culture and the art of service, actively contributing to the preservation and transmission of traditional art of French coffee. Through events and initiatives, we help promote this heritage while celebrating the talents shaping the cafés of today and tomorrow.
Our commitment also extends to producing countries, where we work alongside farmers and local communities to protect biodiversity and preserve the cultural heritage of coffee-growing regions. Through sponsorships and partnerships, we support meaningful initiatives that foster a more responsible and sustainable coffee sector.
TROPHÉE DELAIR COMPETITION
The Trophée Delair is a key event and competition celebrating the art of service and hospitality skills in France. It highlights the talent and creativity of young hospitality students while promoting the traditions of French dining, from duck carving and cheese presentation to crêpe flambé and table service. Our specialty coffees help bring the coffee ritual to life, adding a final touch to the experience.
“Service and its rituals, from the simplest welcome to the most refined ceremonies, contribute to the international reputation of French gastronomy.” André Terrail, President of the Delair Trophy & La Tour d'Argent Group
LA COURSE DES CAFÉS
Back in Paris in 2024, the iconic Course des Cafés (Waiters' race) celebrates the speed, skill, and elegance of French café service. Dressed in traditional black-and-white uniforms and carrying trays, participants showcase precision, mastery, and grace.
Cafés Richard is proud to support this emblematic event, highlighting the talent and tradition of French café culture.
INCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIPS
For 15 years, we have partnered with ANRH Epône to train and employ people with disabilities in maintenance and after-sales service. In France, around 3,500 machines are handled by them each year, promoting professional inclusion and supporting a circular economy.
We also extend this commitment through direct employment in our production, packaging, and logistics workshops.
ANRH has over 70 years of expertise in employment and disability inclusion.
COFFEE WITH A MISSION
Le Café Solidaire is a range developped by Lobodis, a mission-driven company part of the Ricardo Group. This range is 100% traceable and sourced from inclusive and long-term partners in Brazil, Peru and Honduras, supporting social and environmental projects for small-scale producers.
Roasted in France at Lobodis’ dedicated inclusion-focused facility, this range is exclusively available on the French market.
Preserving the Heritage of French Cafés and Bistros
We actively support initiatives that preserve and promote the heritage and know-how of French cafés and bistros, emblematic of the French art of living. As a benefactor member of the Association for the Recognition of the Art of Living in French Cafés and Bistros, we contribute to promoting this cultural legacy, now officially recognized as part of France’s intangible cultural heritage, with the ambition of achieving UNESCO World Heritage status.
“French bistros and cafés are places of popular conviviality where executives, managers and employees, workers and intellectuals, farmers and local dignitaries, young professionals and retirees all come together to drink the same coffee, sit at the same zinc counter, and discuss the news of the day around the same newspaper.”
— Alain Fontaine, Master Restaurateur, President of the Association
PATRONAGE IN ETHIOPIA – ABAYA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MISSION
By supporting the Abaya Mission, Cafés Richard sought to contribute to the preservation of Ethiopia’s tangible and intangible heritage, the historical birthplace of coffee. In 2019, a team of researchers from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) carried out field missions to explore the mysteries of megalithism in the region. This long-term effort culminated in September 2023 with the inscription of the Gedeo cultural landscape on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Beyond preserving this exceptional heritage and its coffee plantations, the ambition of the project is to develop alternative solutions to ensure the long-term economic sustainability of local coffee-producing families. The successful completion of this mission was celebrated through an exhibition at the Fenaille Museum in Rodez, followed by a presentation in Ethiopia in collaboration with the National Museum of Addis Ababa and the Ethiopian Heritage Authority (EHA).
